George and Ivy Chesney Memorial Scholarship
The undergraduate experience of those who attended and graduated from Cal Lutheran in its first decade was so positive that it left an indelible mark on their memories. Many of those students graduated with the desire to help future students be able to experience CLC. The price of a college degree at a private institution was fairly expensive even in the 70s and 80s, but many CLC alumni felt the end result was well worth the price.
George Chesney was among those whose experience at CLC had been memorable as well as professionally profitable. He initially chose to remain anonymous, and arranged to create an endowed scholarship that would accomplish his personal goal—to provide the needed financial assistance to enable serious students with limited resources to attend California Lutheran.
