Leland-Henrikson Scholarship

Dr. Leland came to CLU as Assistant Professor in Education in 1962. During the tumultuous year of 1963, he served as Dean of the College, as Acting President following Dr. Seth Eastvold’s death in Feb. of 1963, and as Registrar. When he was finally able to return to the deanship of the Dept. of Education, he began the process of developing the department and the professional studies program. Thanks to Dr. Leland’s good work, the “School of Education” was born in 1986. Six years later (1992) Dr. Leland retired. He and Anne have three children- Rachel, Laura, and Henry- all CLU alumni. The family lived in the home they built on campus until 2000, when they moved to Leisure Village. He and Anne currently spend summers in Washington. This scholarship is intended for a Christian who is a freshman with a 2.5 minimum GPA with financial need.
